Today, we are going to share a freeware created by our DeviantART friend hb860 that will let you do the same thing in Windows Vista and 7. This tool is well known as the Startup Sound Changer, and it is portable and very easy to use.

HOW TO CHANGE STARTUP SOUND

1. Download this software using this link

Download Startup Sound Changer

2. Then, extract the archive to a desired folder, and run the tool as Administrator.

3. To change the startup sound, click the Replace option.

4. Select the *.wav file that you want to use as startup sound.

5. Now, restart your PC and you will hear the new sound playing.

TIPS

- To restore the default startup sound, run the tool as Administrator, and click the Restore option.
- You can find your default sound right after application's start in C:\ProgramData\StartupSoundChanger\default.wav
