Get the New Windows 8 Sidebar Widget in Windows 7 Using Win 8 Start Widget

In the latest Building Windows 8 video from Microsoft, the Windows 8 team accidentally revealed the new Metro Start widget when the explorer window is opened. If you did not see the video yet, you can download it using he following link

On previous posts from IT Geek 2011, we have shared a tool that will let you get the Windows 8 Sidebar Widget in Windows 7 called Win8Menu.

Today we are going to share the same thing, but this one is offered by IT Geek 2011, and has a new GUI (Graphical User Interface) which is the same like the one shown on the latest Building Windows 8 video. This freeware is known as the Windows 8 New Metro Start Widget.

HOW TO USE

1. Download the software using the following link

2. When the file is downloaded, extract the RAR file into a desired folder.

3. Now double click the Windows 8 Metro StartWidget.exe file, and you will now see the widget showing.

4. If you want to hide the widget, do a right click on the left sidebar and hit the Hide option.

5. To show it again, just drag your mouse to the sidebar on the left side of your screen.

6. To close the sidebar (exit), do a right click on the left sidebar and hit the Exit option.

Make sure you have installed Microsoft .NET Framework 4.0 on your PC, otherwise this software and its features will not execute!
