Windows 8 Allows You to Restart Windows Explorer Using Task Manager

On previous versions of Windows like Windows Vista and 7, if we want to restart the Windows Explorer application, we need to open the Task Manager and end the process of the explorer.exe file. After that, we need to run it again by navigating to File | New Task | and then type explorer.exe. This method of restarting explorer is wasting our time and sometimes can't be succeeded.

But now everything has changed since Microsoft released Windows 8 Developer Preview to public! Now, you can restart Windows Explorer using the new Windows 8 Task Manager!

All you need to do in order to restart Windows Explorer are following the steps below.

1. Open up the Task Manager by hitting the Ctrl + Shift + Esc keyboard combination.

2. Click on the More Details button and go to the Processes tab.

3. Look for the Windows Explorer process. If you found it, do a right click on it and click Restart.

4. You can also do a single left click on the Windows Explorer process and hit the Restart button at the bottom left side of the Task Manager window.

"Well I think this is a very good move from Microsoft because we can see that if we want to restart the Windows Explorer process all we need to do is open the task manager and restart it, unlike older Windows versions :)".
